- Up for sale is a Coherent Compass 360-20 Laser System. This is a very unique system that was designed as a prototype for the current Genesis 355nm system. It is a very special laser utilizing several different elements to produce the spec'd 20mW of 360nm output. The laser is based around a doubled Pr:YLF+3 crystal inside a bow-tie ring cavity. The Pr:YLF crystal is pumped with a low power 460nm diode seed laser and then amplified with a 300+mW 479.5nm Sapphire OPSL laser. The frequency doubling is done with a temperature matched BBO crystal. Everything is self contained inside the laser head which sits on a custom made fan coked head sink. The laser outputs 16-20 mW @ 360 nm with about 5% power stability over 1 hour. The laser head has 4100 hours use and the pump laser inside (Coherent sapphire 479-200) has only 1450 hours use on it; rated for 10-25K hours. This system includes a spare UV laser head (no pump) and a spare controller board to keep the laser working for a long time! This system was around $50,000 when new in April 2008. Just the pump laser inside is worth our asking price. Sorry; only 1 is available. Perfect for a fluorescence microscope!
